ILLINOIS STATE HOUSE DISTRICT 89: Chesney Presents Grant from Illinois Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus to Scales Mound High School Trap Team

Illinois State House District 89 issued the following announcement on Oct. 15.

State Representative Andrew Chesney, acting as a member of the Illinois Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus, presented a $500 grant to the Scales Mound High School Trap Team for new team jerseys and clay targets on Monday, October 14.

“The Scales Mound High School Trap Team would like to thank Andrew Chesney and the Illinois Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus for the $500 donation,” said Trap Team Coach Linda Ziarko. “The team will put the funds to good use in the upcoming season.”

The Scales Mound High School Trap Team is participating in the Illinois High School Clay Target League for their third year. During their first year, the team placed first in their conference and second during their second year. Team member Cameron Ziarko has had the highest average in the Illinois League for the past two years as well.

“I was proud to nominate the Scales Mound High School Trap Team for this funding,” said Rep. Andrew Chesney. “This award-winning team deserves the support of, not only our community, but were found to be quite impressive by my colleagues in awarding these funds.”

The Illinois Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus is an advocate for the state’s outdoor recreational assets. They work to raise and award private funds to local organizations that provide access and resources to the public for various outdoor recreational opportunities.
