City of Prophetstown City Council met August 26

City of Prophetstown City Council met Aug. 26.

I. CALL TO ORDER:

A special meeting of the Prophetstown City Council was held at City Hall in Prophetstown, Illinois on August 26, 2019. The meeting convened at 6:34 p.m., Mayor Steve Swanson, presiding.

II. ROLL CALL

DAN BAKER, DARYL DRENNEN, GREG SCHMITT, JOSH HOVEY, RYAN INSKEEP, JOHN GIBSON

CITY STAFF IN ATTENDANCE:

CONNIE JENSEN, City Clerk

III. ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION:

Consideration and Possible Action: to approve Resolution #08262019 - Resolution for Maintenance Under the Illinois Highway Code to Use MFT Funds. [File 17/17 @ 6:45]

Mayor Swanson stated that the council had voted to approve the bids for road and curb repairs on Buttercup Lane.

Mayor Swanson stated that the acquisition of four empty lots in the subdivision was approved by the council as the land on which the new water treatment plant will be built.

Mayor Swanson stated that part of the agreement that was made with the former owner of the lots was that once the city obtained the lots, the city would take over the care and maintenance of Buttercup Lane, which includes the road, curbs and gutters

Mayor Swanson stated that the city received paperwork from IDOT regarding the use of the MFT funds for any needed road/gutter/curb repairs on Buttercup Lane. Mayor Swanson stated that in order for IDOT to approve the use of the MFT funds, the council would have to approve Resolution #08262019.

MOTION: Motion to approve Resolution #08262019 - Resolution for Maintenance Under the Illinois Highway Code to Use MFT Funds. 

MOTION MOVED BY SCHMITT, SECONDED BY DRENNEN.

COUNCIL CONCURRED. MOTION CARRIED.

MOTION: To adjourn the 8/26/19 Prophetstown Special City Council Meeting at 6:38 p.m. 

MOTION MOVED BY INSKEEP, SECONDED BY GIBSON.

COUNCIL CONCURRED. MOTION CARRIED.
