Ogle County State’s Attorney – Court Services – Focus House Committee met April 14.

Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

1. Call Meeting to Order: Chairman Finfrock called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. Present via audio: Corbitt, Fox, Oltmanns and Whalen. Others via audio: IT Manager Larry Callant, Nordman, Smith (arrived at 1:02), Director of Court Services Cindy Bergstrom and Focus House Director Brenda Mason. Absent: State’s Attorney Eric Morrow.

2. Approval of Minutes – March 10, 2020: Motion by Whalen to approve the minutes as presented, 2nd by Corbitt. Motion carried.

3. Public Comment: Finfrock stated the County Board meeting will take place as scheduled but will be strictly a virtual meeting.

4. Monthly Invoices

 State’s Attorney: Motion by Fox to approve the bills totaling $2,395.24, 2nd by Oltmanns. Motion carried.

 Probation: None

 Focus House: Motion by Whalen to approve the bills totaling $8,111.18, 2nd by Corbitt. Corbitt questioned the late fine on the Vendor Services invoice. Mason will look into that. Motion carried.

5. Department Reports

 State’s Attorney: None

 Probation

 Budget Update: Bergstrom stated everything looks good, no one in detention. She has agreed to give back the money allocated in her Part-Time expense line. It is approximately $25,400.

 Department Update: They have set some new policies; employees are working remotely. Oltmanns asked if they have seen an increase in clients during this situation. Bergstrom stated they have not seen a big increase.

 Focus House

 Budget Update: Everything is good. Corbitt asked if the school closures would affect the School Reimbursement revenues. Mason stated it would not.

 Department Update: Mason stated they have been taking necessary precautions to keep the virus out of the facilities; no visitations, daily cleaning, wearing masks, etc. Corbitt asked if they have seen an increase in depression with the residents. Mason does not think so; they are keeping busy with numerous projects, they use Skype to connect with families and busy with E-Learning.

8. Adjournment: With no further business, Chairman Finfrock adjourned. Time 1:15 p.m.
