Freeport Public library Board met March 19.

I. CALL TO ORDER
A special meeting of the Freeport Public Library Board of Trustees was held in the Library's Boardroom. President Quiggle presided and called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Members Present: Rebecca Quiggle
Julie Reynolds Renee Barr
Mark Farshtchi Rose Marie Brubaker
Members Absent: Alan Greene, Mary Kaufman, Lucas Kramer
Also present, Executive Director Ashley Huffines.
Ashley Huffines acted as Recording Secretary.

XI. NEW BUSINESS
A. Motion to close the Freeport Public Library: March 17 – March 30
1. President Quiggle made the following motion below and the motion was seconded by Renee Barr:
Motion:
The Freeport Public Library closed to the public on March 17, 2020 and will remain closed to the public until March 30. The Director of the Freeport Public Library, currently Ashley Huffines, will refer to the advice of local officials and statewide officials, to assist in the decision to re- open the library to the public. These officials include, but are not limited to, the:
• Stephenson County Health Department
• City Council
• City Manager
• Mayor of Freeport
• Governor of Illinois
• Illinois Department of Public Health
• Illinois Library Association
In the event that the library remains closed, the Board of Trustees will take the advice and recommendations of the Library Director, and give them the authority to make the decision without holding a special meeting.
The Library Director will remain in contact with the Board of Trustees, The City Council and the Mayor of Freeport during the entire closure.
