Analysis: Savanna pays $7.69 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Savanna Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 88.5 percent of the $264,642 the Savanna Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $7.69 for every $1 from pension members, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Savanna contributed $234,213 to the fund, which saw a $13,558 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $30,428, or 11.5 percent, in 2018. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
