Analysis: Savanna pays $10.20 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Savanna Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 91.1 percent of the $112,412 the Savanna Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $10.20 for every $1 from pension members, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Savanna contributed $102,380 to the fund, which saw a $3,842 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $10,031, or 8.9 percent, in 2018. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
