Analysis: Freeport pays $4.42 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Freeport Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 80.8 percent of the $1,722,206 the Freeport Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.42 for every $1 from pension members, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Freeport contributed $1,392,228 to the fund, which saw a $43,067 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $314,723, or 18.3 percent, in 2018. Another $15,255 came from other unspecified sources.
