Analysis: Byron pays $2.01 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Byron FPD Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 66.8 percent of the $254,475 the Byron FPD Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $2.01 for every $1 from pension members, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Byron contributed $169,967 to the fund, which saw a $4,300 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $84,508, or 33.2 percent, in 2018.
