Illinois State House District 71 issued the following announcement on June 30
The Illinois Department of Transportation announces today that weather permitting, construction work on US Route 30 from Morrison to Emerson Road will begin on Monday, July 6, 2020. Civil Constructors, Inc. will be completing 6.6 miles of patching and resurfacing on the $3 million contract. Traffic will be reduced to one lane utilizing flaggers for the duration of the project which is anticipated to be completed by the end of October.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
