Q3 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Whiteside County?

There were 17 offenders released on parole during the third quarter of 2019 that live in Whiteside County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by NW Illinois News.

The data shows that 15 men and two women were released in Whiteside County. The median age of the parolees was 36. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2019, and the oldest was a 59-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2011.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Wesley Abell. He was convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2006 when he was 25 years old. He is now 39.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the third quarter of 2019 in each Whiteside County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
