Illinois Leaks and Edgar County Watchdogs seem to have the mayor of Bellmont in their crosshairs.

The web publication asserted that Gary Lance lied in court during a hearing on the motion for sanctions against the Bellmont mayor. Lance was questioned by attorney Johnathon Turpin, who according to the Edgar County Watchdogs, asked a number of questions about the mayor lying on numerous occasions.

The web publication reports that under oath, Lance confessed that he lied for fun and he confirmed he was not afraid of the defendants. He also admitted he used the village tractor for his own personal use on his property.

It’s the use of the tractor that started the ordeal. Lance had filed restraining orders against several residents, who had videotaped the mayor using the tractor on his property.

Those orders were tossed out by the court and during the trial, Lance invoked the Fifth Amendment but also admitted to providing perjured testimony.
