Ogle County Executive Committee met Aug. 11.
Here is the minutes provided by the committee:
1. Call Meeting to Order: Chairman Finfrock called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
Present: Kenney, Nordman and Sparrow. Present via audio: Griffin, Janes and Reising.
Others: Treasurer Linda Beck and County Clerk & Recorder Laura. Others via audio: Asp.
2. Approval of Minutes – July 14, 2020: Motion by Sparrow to approve the minutes as presented, 2nd by Nordman. Motion carried.
3. Public Comment: None
4. Reports of Committees
Personnel & Salary: Motion by Sparrow to move the resolution as presented onto the County Board, 2nd by Nordman. Nordman had some questions. Sparrow withdrew his motion.

5. Old Business
Update on Tower Status: Finfrock stated they are still working on the ownership.
Public Defender’s Office: They have talked with Judge Hanson and they are looking at hiring a company to do a collection of unpaid fines. Finfrock would like to see that money be used to support the office. Judge Hanson also reduced the request from 4 to 3 Public Defenders. Finfrock stated we are one of a few counties in the State that do not use a collection firm.
Noise Control Ordinance: Nordman stated there is a draft and it is waiting for State’s Attorney approval as well as Zoning Administrator Adam’s opinion.
Grant Specialist: Finfrock will reach out to the name that he has been given; it is a valuable position.
New Holiday Schedule: None
Purchasing Policy: Finfrock stated they are still working on it. He would like to focus on the bids. Griffin stated it is good to include that if the project is under the required threshold that estimates are received.
Cure Act for Local Government: They are putting together a committee to look at the submission of different items that Departments have bought due to COVID.
6. New Business
Host Agreement for Orchard Hills Landfill: They are working on revising the contract; it will be a long process.
Other Business: None
Downstate Small Business Stabilization Program: 4 applications; Cook stated they were mailed out August 4th.
