Dixon City Fire District responded to 207 calls in 2018 - 23.2 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Dixon City included 78 fires - 35 structure fires, seven vehicle fires and 36 other fires. The fire department also responded to three calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $307,450 in fire loss - or about $3,942 per fire.

The department also received 126 false calls, including one malicious call and 125 other false calls.
