East Dubuque Fire District responded to 36 calls in 2018 - 38.5 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in East Dubuque included nine fires - six structure fires and three other fires.

In all, the department saw $25,000 in fire loss - or about $2,778 per fire.

The department also received 27 false calls.
