Milledgeville Fire Protection District responded to 35 calls in 2018 - 29.6 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Milledgeville included 31 fires - 13 structure fires, two vehicle fires and 16 other fires.

In all, the department saw $94,500 in fire loss - or about $3,048 per fire.

The department also received four false calls.

The Milledgeville Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $371,289 in 2018.
