Q1 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Ogle County?

There were four offenders released on parole during the first quarter of 2020 that live in Ogle County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by NW Illinois News.

The data shows that three men and one woman were released in Ogle County. The median age of the parolees was 36. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 2019, and the oldest was a 42-year-old woman sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Brett W. Singley. He was convicted of a sex crime in 1998 when he was 18 years old. He is now 41.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2020 in each Ogle County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
