Mount Morris home prices rise in the third quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2017 in Mount Morris rose by $25,000 while total sales decreased by 28.6%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2017, there were 15 homes sold, with a median sale price of $71,000 - a 54.3% increase over the $46,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 21 homes sold in Mount Morris in the third quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in Mount Morris for 2017 was $1,713. In 2016, the median sales tax was $1,721. This marks an decrease of 0.5%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.4%.
