Oregon home prices fall in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Oregon fell by $21,000 while total sales increased by 10.6%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 73 homes sold, with a median sale price of $70,000 - a 23.1% decrease over the $91,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 66 homes sold in Oregon in 2016.

The median sales tax in Oregon for 2017 was $2,210. In 2016, the median sales tax was $2,070. This marks an increase of 6.8%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 3.2%.
