The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services provided $45,621 in health-related CARES Act funding to Amboy businesses during the final quarter of last year.
The sum is a small fraction of the approximately $5.2 billion dispersed to businesses across the state, a January article in the Illinois Business Daily showed.
On average, Amboy businesses received grants of $11,405, compared to the average loan amount for the state of $335,543.
That state-level average may have been pulled up by the significant funding provided to larger businesses, such as Advocate Health and Hospitals Corporation, which had the highest allocation for the state at approximately $316 million.
Recipient amounts in Amboy varied widely, from Laurine Pitzer Hanson, which received $670, to Joel Hochstatter DMD and Brandon Klein DDS LLC, which received $32,129, financial data numbers from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed.
