Byron Forest Preserve District issued the following announcement on Mar. 20.
We will be offering a two day Illinois Department of Natural Resources Hunter Safety Education class at the Jarrett Prairie Center on April 24 & 25. This class is needed to obtain an Illinois hunting license and covers hunting ethics, firearms and archery safety.
The class will run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday and 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm on Sunday. Participants must attend both days and be able to pass the final written test.
The class is FREE but advance registration is required by calling 815 234-8535 extension 200. Hurry these classes fill up fast!
