| Tourism Committee Updates | a. Blackhawk Waterways – Diane Bausman – Report from BWCVB was presented
b. Rock Falls Chamber – Bethany Bland updated the committee on their upcoming events – Small Business Collective – Hiring Tips April 27, Tailgate Bingo Party May 20, Community Garage Sales May 14-16 and Summer Splash June 25-26 c. Tourism Director – Melinda Jones i. Barn Quilting Class – 23 signed up ii. Working with Whiteside County Airport to set up vendors and hotel accommodations for the July 23-25, 2021 event iii. Jammin’ on the Rock – May 6, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. iv.Art in the Park – May 22, 2021 and September 4, 2021 v.Koloni Bikes will be back in the park by the end of April or beginning of May d. Rock Falls Tourism Grants – Event Sponsorship Grant – Rock Falls Chamber of Commerce is requesting $5,000.00 for fireworks show during Summer Splash. The entire budget for Sponsorship Grants is $5,000.00 for FY 2022. After discussion the Rock Falls Chamber of Commerce will attempt to obtain other sponsorships and bring back to the next meeting. e. Façade Grant Program -Folsom’s Bakery completed an application for the Façade Improvement Program for new signage in the amount of $2,157.00. Brian Tribley moved to approve the Façade Grant in the amount of $2,157.00, second by Amy Williamson, 6 ayes, motion carried. | Tabled until the next meeting
