Village of Ashton Village Board met August 9.

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

The Village of Ashton Board Trustees met at 7:00 p.m. Monday August 9, 2021 with President Tim Henert presiding. Trustees in attendance were; Martha Holder, Susan Larson, Rhonda Cardot, Chuck Ellis, and Village Attorney Russ Crull. Absent were Dave Chapman and Emir Ramandani.

A motion was made by Ellis and a seconded by Larson to approve the July 12, 2021 minutes. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Larson and seconded by Cardot to pay the monthly bills. Motion carried.

A motion was made Larson and seconded by Holder to remove Meghan Clark from Village of Ashton’s Bank accounts with Central Bank and add Catherine (Katie) Koks and Sharon VanDam on accounts and as signers. Rollcall vote 4 Yeas and 2 absent. Motion carried.

Larson made a motion to hiring Catherine (Katie) Koks for the Village Clerk position at a rate of $18.00 per hour @ a minimum of 32 hours per week and leave the maximum hours open, to be entitled to benefits such as the other full time employees including vacation, insurance, and IMRF effective August 16, 2021. Rollcall vote with 4 Yeas and 2 absent.

Discussion not to go to IMRF Conference this year and do virtual classes that they offer instead.

ZONING: Manheim not present.

POLICE: Glessner on vacation, not present to report.

COMMUNTIY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: Ramadani working so not present.

FINANCE: Larson is waiting to hear from Auditor about 2020 and should have for September meeting.

SEWER AND WATER: Chapman not present.

PARKS: Holder reported working on planning of Fall Festival.

LIQUOR COMMISSIONER: Nothing to report.

CLERK’S REPORT: Nothing new to report.

CEMETARY BOARD: Nothing new to report.

MILLS AND PETRIE BOARD: Holder reported she was not at July’s meeting and had talked to Stauffer as to what was discussed and Stauffer said they went over financials.

VILLAGE ATTORNEY: Crull reported he has been working on Golf Cart ordinance.

OTHER TOPICS: Monetta Young had mentioned the 50th Anniversary for United Methodist Church on October 17, 2021 we were invited to join.

A motion was made by Holder and second by Larson to adjourn the meeting at 7:16 p.m.
