Report: Byron School District spent $15,330 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Byron Community Unit School District 226 was down 12.5 percent from five years ago, according to the NW Illinois News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Ogle County school district spent $17,529 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $15,330 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 1,482 to 1,512 students over the same period.

Byron's spending in 2019-20 was 5.8 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
