Report: Dakota School District spent $11,026 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Dakota Community Unit School District 201 was up 3.9 percent from five years ago, according to the NW Illinois News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Stephenson County school district spent $10,616 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $11,026 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 838 to 821 students over the same period.

Dakota's spending in 2019-20 was 23.9 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
