City of Savanna City Council met Feb. 8.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

CALL TO ORDER:

Mayor Chris Lain called the meeting to order on the said date at 7:00 P.M. Notice of the meeting was delivered to all Council members and posted at 333 Chicago Avenue, Savanna, Illinois, in accordance with the State of Illinois Open Meetings Act.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:

Mayor Chris Lain led the Council in the pledge of allegiance.

ROLL CALL / ESTABLISH QUORUM:

Mayor Chris Lain declared the establishment of a quorum with members in attendance Mayor Chris Lain, Pat Sanchez, Jocelyn Boyd, Nick Law, Jeff Griswold, Tevan Hartman, Deb Long, Peter King, and Jim Friedenbach was absent. Non-members in attendance Police Chief Jeff Doran, Comptroller/Treasurer Brittany Hatteberg, Attorney Phil Jensen, Fire Chief Scott Wolfe, and Superintendent of Public Works Brent Corey, Paul Hartman, News Media: Mike Nester, Michael Miller, and City Clerk Betsy Kinder.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA:

After review, Pat Sanchez motioned to approve the agenda, seconded by Peter King. All voting in favor, none opposed. Motion passed.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Consideration of the Minutes of the January 11, 2022 Regular Meeting: After a brief review, Tevan Hartman motioned to approve the Regular Meeting Minutes from January 11, 2022, seconded by Nick Law. All voting in favor, none opposed. Motion passed.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Finance Committee 02-08-22 being given as Committee as Whole:

Pat Sanchez reviewed Accounts Receivable, Five-Year Review and Budget, all areas look good at this time.

Request for Funds, Light Bar (Command Vehicle), Fire Department: Fire Chief Scott Wolfe explained that the cost has gone up since it was approved. It was originally budgeted for $2,000.00 from Civic Fund and is now $2,267.00. Nick Law asked who would be installing the light bar, Fire Chief Scott Wolfe stated the association would cover install costs. After a brief review, Pat Sanchez made a motion to release $2,000.00 from the 52-Civic Fund, seconded by Jocelyn Boyd. All voting in favor, none opposed. Motion passed.

Request for Non-Budgeted Funds, Light Bar (Command Vehicle) Fire Department: After a brief review, Pat Sanchez motioned to pay the $267.00 Non-Budgeted Funds, Light Bar (Command Vehicle out of the 52-Civic Fund, seconded by Jocelyn Boyd. Roll Call Vote Aye: Pat Sanchez, Jocelyn Boyd, Nick Law, Deb Long, Peter King, Tevan Hartman, and Jeff Griswold. Nay: None. Motion passed.

WARRANT #10:

Bills for the Month of January 2022 Totaling $266,155.57: After a brief review, Pat Sanchez made a motion to approve Warrant #10, Bills for the Month of January 2022 Totaling $266,155.57, seconded by Jocelyn Boyd. Roll Call Vote Aye: Pat Sanchez, Jocelyn Boyd, Nick Law, Deb Long, Peter King, Tevan Hartman, and Jeff Griswold. Nay: None. Motion passed.

MONTHLY REPORTS:

Financial, Police, Fire, and Public Works for January 2022: After a brief review, Pat Sanchez motioned to approve reports as given, seconded by Nick Law. All in favor, none opposed. Motion passed.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

Project Update, MSA: No update given during the meeting.

NEW BUSINESS: None at this time.

CITIZENS, COMMITTEE MEMBERS:

Pat Sanchez stated he would be scheduling at Water/Sewer/Refuse/Street and Alley Committee meeting in the next couple weeks. Nick Law asked Attorney Phil Jensen about progress on the 3 houses being recommended for tear down. Brent Corey stated letters have been sent to owners and the second notice will be sent out soon.

Nick Law also talked to Brent Corey about Anita and Greg Stotts question on why Meadow Knoll is not plowed by the city.

With nothing further, Mayor Chris Lain made a motion to adjourn at 7:32 P.M.
