Pickleball for Beginners

Pickleball is a cross between badminton and tennis, and is the fastest-growing sport among baby boomers in America. This introductory course provides the opportunity to learn the team sport, including rules of the game and equipment to get started. Enjoy a fun outlet for fitness, competition and socialization.
Sousa in Freeport
Location: Freeport Masonic Temple, 305 W. Stephenson St., Freeport, Ill.

John Philip Sousa visited Freeport on six occasions with his world-famous Sousa Band between 1897 and 1928. This class will offer students a review of these concerts, with a special emphasis on the “March King’s” last performance at the Masonic Temple Building in Freeport. Sponsored by The Masonic Temple and an HCC History Alumnus, this event is free. Registration is required in advance or at the event.
Rustic Risotto

German Valley Historical Museum Tour

Join us for a guided tour of the 1890s Beuth House. The house offers a new research room of local historical books, genealogies, photos, maps and German Valley artifacts. Inside you’ll find a military room, Victorian bedroom, kitchen, dining room and parlor. Our “barn” contains farming, household and business artifacts from German Valley and the surrounding area. The Beuth House first floor and barn are handicap-accessible.
