City of Rock Falls Building Code Committee met Sept. 14.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Meeting was called to order by Chairman Snow

No audience requests

Committee reviewed minutes form the April 6, 2022 committee meeting.

A motion was made by Alderwoman Sobottka and second by Mayor Kleckler to approve the minutes.

All yes; motion carried

Committee reviewed Code Enforcement reports for June, July and August 2022.

A.1209 W 16th St - Inspector Searing gave update that property cleaned up with a little more action to be taken. Inspector will stay on top of this.

No Action

B. 420 Haskell Ave-Inspector Searing reported that the property at this time has been cleaned up.

No Action

C. 1204 W 18th St - Inspector Searing reported that the property has not been cleaned up. A motion was made by Alderman Snow and second by Alderwoman Sobottka to take court action with City Administrator Blackert's approval.

All yes; motion carried

A. Required Electric Service Updates upon sale of property - Discussion on properties that need to have electrical services updated, due to the supply chain issues with electrical components and availability of electricians. A motion was made by Chris King and second by Alderwoman Sobottka for the Building Department to send notices out to all past due residents asking for a receipt that requires materials are ordered or a work order from the electrician with a date to be completed, also a follow up letter in 8 months if not completed.

All yes; motion carried

B. Mowing Contract – Inspector Searing explained the issues he is having with the current contractor for mowing. Mow orders are not being done, mow orders are not being completed, mow orders are not returned with the required information and billing is not being received by the end of month. A motion was made by Alderwoman Sobottka and second by Chris King to only pay the correct invoices and to send to the city council to terminate the mowing contract with Burger

All yes; motion carried Brothers.

A motion was made by Chairman Snow and second by Alderwoman Sobottka to adjourn the meeting.

All yes; meeting ended at 6:50 PM
