Q4 2022 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Lee County?

There were six offenders living in Lee County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by NW Illinois News.

The data shows all of the released offenders in Lee County were men. The median age of the parolees was 36. The youngest parolee was a 31-year-old man sentenced for homicide in 2013, and the oldest was a 71-year-old man sentenced for a sex crime in 2019.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Christopher Owens. He was convicted of homicide in 2013 when he was 21 years old. He is now 31.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the fourth quarter of 2022 in each Lee County.
