Stephenson County residents participate in secure document shredding event hosted by State Representative Tony McCombie

Dozens of Stephenson County residents took advantage of a safe and secure document shredding event in Freeport today. The event was hosted by State Representative Tony McCombie in partnership with the Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office, ComEd, and State Representative John Cabello. The Freeport Recycling Center’s “Shred Beast” staff and truck played a vital role in providing this valuable service to the community.

"It's great to see so many residents taking steps to protect their personal information," said State Representative Tony McCombie. "The on-site document shredding event offered a convenient and secure way for individuals to dispose of sensitive documents."

The event was held at the Freeport Recycling Center, where residents had the opportunity to bring their documents for shredding. This initiative aimed to help prevent identity theft and promote responsible document disposal.

"We are grateful for the partnership with State Representative Tony McCombie, as well as the Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office and ComEd," added McCombie. "Their support allowed us to provide this essential service to our community."

The Freeport Recycling Center’s “Shred Beast” staff and truck worked tirelessly to ensure the safe and efficient shredding of documents. With their expertise, residents could be confident that their personal information was securely destroyed.

"The 'Shred Beast' team did an amazing job," commended McCombie. "Their dedication and professionalism were instrumental in making this event a success."

By offering on-site document shredding, the event aimed to make the process more convenient for residents, encouraging them to properly dispose of sensitive information and reduce the risk of identity theft.
