State Representative Bradley J. Fritts has been actively engaging with the community and addressing various legislative issues in District 74. From attending open houses to hosting conversations about important legislation, Rep. Fritts has been dedicated to serving the needs of his constituents.

One of his recent community engagements was at Heritage Square in Dixon, where he learned about the services offered to the senior population. Rep. Fritts expressed his gratitude towards the staff for their efforts in providing quality living communities for seniors.

Additionally, Rep. Fritts had the opportunity to speak with students participating in the Sauk Valley Community College Leadership Program. He commended the program for offering students the chance to engage with community leaders, learn conflict resolution skills, and practice public speaking. Rep. Fritts was inspired by the passion and drive of these young leaders for positive change.

Recognizing the importance of agricultural education, Rep. Fritts visited Amboy Community Unit School District #272 and Lee Co. Ag In The Classroom. As a farmer himself, he emphasized the significance of getting more young students interested in the agricultural industry. Rep. Fritts acknowledged the schools' agriculture programs as a great starting point for fostering this interest.

Another highlight of Rep. Fritts' community outreach was his visit to Washington Elementary School in Sterling. He had the honor of speaking with students about his role as a State Representative, the Illinois Constitution, and the legislative process. Rep. Fritts emphasized the importance of civic engagement and educated the next generation of leaders about the functioning of the government.

The Rochelle Rotary Club also hosted Rep. Fritts for a conversation about the legislation passed in Springfield this year and his goals for 2024. This provided an opportunity for community members to stay informed about the work being done at the state level.

In an effort to make the community safer, Rep. Fritts organized a Prescription Drug Drop-Off event. With the help of partners such as the Illinois State Police, the Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Sterling Police Department, hundreds of expired or unwanted prescriptions were collected. Rep. Fritts expressed his gratitude to everyone who participated in this event.

A significant legislative issue that Rep. Fritts addressed is the Shabbona State Park Survey. He highlighted the historical background of the park, which was originally designated for the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation but was never fulfilled. House Bill 4107 has been proposed to transfer the entirety of Shabbona Lake State Park back to the Potawatomi Nation without disrupting the land of current homeowners. Rep. Fritts is seeking feedback from residents within a 15-mile radius of the park to ensure the best decision is made.

Rep. Fritts is also encouraging all constituents in District 74 to complete his 2023 Legislative Survey. By understanding the needs and challenges of his constituents, Rep. Fritts aims to shape his legislative agenda accordingly. The survey covers various policy areas, including gun bans and tax increases, to provide a comprehensive understanding of the community's concerns.

In the spirit of the holiday season, Rep. Fritts wished everyone a very merry Christmas and continues to keep the community updated through his website and Facebook page. He remains committed to serving the district, both in Springfield and in the local community.

State Representative Bradley J. Fritts' dedication to community outreach and legislative initiatives reflects his commitment to serving the needs of his constituents in District 74.
