On April 15, viewers in Southern Illinois can look forward to a special feature on PBS highlighting Tenderloin Farms Lavender. The farm, now under female ownership and managed by sisters Kim Hansen and Kris Straub, has evolved from a hog farm to cultivating 300 acres of corn and soybeans, with its lavender fields drawing visitors from all over the state.

The farm's rich history is honored through its name, which has been retained across five generations. Leader McCombie expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming PBS feature, stating, "Any opportunity I have to promote great things happening in the agriculture industry is one I will not miss." McCombie emphasized the importance of shedding light on the achievements of women in Illinois agriculture, underscoring the significance of this spotlight on Tenderloin Farms.

The PBS special, part of the "Living St. Louis" segment, will air on channel 9 at 7:00 p.m., providing a platform to showcase the success and dedication of the female-led operation. It is an opportunity to celebrate the contributions of women in agriculture and recognize the ongoing legacy of Tenderloin Farms.
