In addition, Leader McCombie welcomed Naomi, a page from her 89th District, for the day at the Capitol. She also introduced a bill, SB3350, in the Human Services Committee, aiming to provide fentanyl test strips for free distribution by county health departments to address the fentanyl epidemic.

As preparations for the Illinois State Fair continue, Director Jerry Costello from the Illinois Department of Agriculture marked the 100-day countdown by sharing corn dogs with attendees at the Capitol.

Amidst various engagements and visits to the Capitol, Leader McCombie found time to enjoy a Soy Latte from the Illinois Soybean Association, tour SPARC with fellow lawmakers, and give welcome remarks for the Joint AKA and APhiA Day at the Capitol. The week also saw House Republican Leadership hosting the Illinois Construction Industry Committee and the Illinois Pork Producers celebrating Bacon Day by offering BLT's in Springfield.
