City of Rochelle Golf Course Advisory Committee met June 24.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The meeting was called to order at 11:00 AM. Members present were Dennis Stewart, Bob Johns, Don Geralds, Lance Charnock and Mark Gillis. Also present were Mitch Hamiton and Jenny Thompson.

· Roll Call

· Approve minutes of last meeting: May 2024 minutes were approved. Motion to approve by Don Geralds, seconded by Lance Charnock. Motion carried 4-0.

· Public Comments: None

· Financial Report—Mitch Hamilton: The total equity and surplus as of May 31st, 2024, was $26,049.45. Motion to accept report made by Lance Charnock, seconded by Bob Johns. Motion passed 4-0.

· Golf Course Superintendent Report – Mitch Hamilton:

a. Rounds played as of May 31st, 2024- 4,616 vs. May 2023- 3,880. An increase of 736 rounds.

b. The golf course cleanup continues after windstorms.

c. The roof on the outhouse at #4 tee is finished. Water line repair to be finished by July 1st.

d. Work on #4 and #6 tee box complex continues, groundwork is finished, irrigation line trenching completed, and sodding should begin the first week of July.

e. Negotiations continue with Luna restaurant on placement of garbage bins.

f. Playdays scheduled: July 13th, Heitter Group. July 14th, Creston Booster. July 27th, Moose followed by Dennis Berg Memorial. August 5th & 6th, Club Championship. A motion to accept the report was made by Bob Johns and seconded by Mark Gillis. Motion carried 4-0.

· Business Items: Discussed removal of trees adjacent to the 4th and 6th tee box. Vote to remove passed 4 to1.

· Committee Members Reports/Concerns: Discussed an educational program on Golf and Cart etiquette.

· Date and Time for next meeting: July 29th, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Fairways Pro Shop.

Motion to adjourn by Bob Johns and seconded by Lance Charnock. The meeting adjourned at 11:35 AM.
