House Minority Leader McCombie passed legislation in 2022 to make August 1st the official Sweet Corn Appreciation Day in Illinois. Today marks the celebration of sweet corn and its significance to Illinois and its residents.
For the last three years, Leader McCombie has hosted a special event at her district office to commemorate Sweet Corn Day. The day features family activities, sweet corn, and more. “There is so much to love about sweet corn and the best way to enjoy it is alongside family and friends,” said McCombie.
The annual event continues to grow each year, with this year's celebration expected to be no different. Residents in the area are encouraged to attend and enjoy some sweet corn.
