Starting Monday, October 7, road construction will commence on Illinois 64 in Ogle County. The Illinois Department of Transportation is overseeing the project, which spans a 4.5-mile work zone from the Illinois Railway crossing in Mount Morris to west of Illinois Street in Oregon. The work involves milling, patching, and resurfacing the road.

During this period, there will be daily lane closures managed by flaggers. However, access to homes and businesses will remain open. "Illinois House Minority Leader Tony McCombie is urging residents to drive with caution and slowdown in and around the work zone."

The project is expected to conclude by the end of November.
