A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Morrison City Council on October 15, 2024. The request was made by us at NW Illinois News, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
The information requested pertains to the council members of the Morrison City Council. Specifically, we asked for a list of all council members with their names, titles, years appointed, term lengths (2 or 4 years), and term expiry dates.
As a media organization dedicated to reporting news to the public, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. We believe that as media professionals engaged in disseminating information, we are eligible for a fee waiver.
We are awaiting a response from the Morrison City Council regarding this request. This information will help us continue our mission of providing thorough and accurate coverage of local government affairs.
