State Representative Bradley J. Fritts recently spotlighted Ziggie’s Family Restaurant in Mendota for its contributions to the community. The restaurant, a third-generation family-owned business established in 1972, is recognized for its involvement with local organizations and support during emergencies. Benny and Vjolca Zendeli have owned the restaurant since 2015.
"Whether it’s working alongside the local chamber of commerce, supporting Boy and Girl Scout troops, or even providing meals to the Mendota Fire Department during the Mendota fires, Ziggie’s truly uplifts our community," said Rep. Fritts.
In other news, Rep. Fritts highlighted several community events and initiatives. A Household Hazardous Waste Collection Drive was successfully held in partnership with House Republican Leader Tony McCombie, Sauk Valley Community College, and the Illinois EPA.
Rep. Fritts also expressed gratitude after receiving the Illinois Farm Bureau Friends of Agriculture Award from the Lee County Farm Bureau: "As a farmer, I will always fight to ensure our voices are heard in Springfield."
Community engagement continued with participation in events such as Biz Boo Trick or Treat hosted by the Rock Falls Chamber and Trunk or Treat at Washington School in Dixon.
Additionally, his office took part in celebrating Self Help Enterprises' 60th anniversary—a non-profit offering services for individuals with special needs—and participated in a leadership series organized by Rochelle Chamber of Commerce.
To further community involvement, Rep. Fritts introduced a 'Community Calendar' on his official website where residents can find information about upcoming events within District 74.
Rep. Fritts encouraged constituents to vote on Election Day: "Voting is one of the most important parts of our nation’s democracy and I encourage everyone to engage with our civic process."
