When lawmakers reconvene in Springfield on January 4, 2025, they will enter a "lame duck" session. This period allows outgoing elected officials to vote on new legislation before the next General Assembly takes office. Concerns have been raised about the potential passage of controversial bills during this time.

"Some of the worst bills passed by Democrats have come through during lame duck and we expect much of the same this time around," stated an unnamed source. The sentiment reflects a broader concern that Illinois residents deserve more prudent legislative processes.

The session is expected to draw attention from both supporters and critics as it unfolds in early January.
