After the second day of the Lame Duck session concluded, House Minority Leader Tony McCombie released a statement criticizing the proceedings. McCombie stated, "The buck stops with the leader…the speaker: we won’t be subject to the mismanagement and chaos of his own making. We are here on the taxpayers’ dime and it is an expensive waste."

These remarks followed a session where lawmakers, staff, and personnel traveled to the Capitol during a snow emergency for what was described as a non-urgent legislative day. This session also occurred amid notable staff turnover within the Illinois House Speaker’s Office.

There are two more days scheduled for the Lame Duck session, which can be viewed live online at ilga.gov.
