Freeport Athletics, an entity dedicated to promoting the achievements of student-athletes at Freeport High School, shared several updates on February 5, 2025. These posts highlighted accomplishments in wrestling and basketball within the school community.
On February 5, 2025, Freeport Athletics celebrated the Boys Wrestling team for their commendable performance at a conference meet. "Huge congrats to our Boys Wrestling team for a stellar 3rd place finish at the conference meet! Special shoutout to Israel Goodman, NIC-10 Champion at 215lbs—what a powerhouse! Go Pretzels!"
In another update on February 5, 2025, Freeport Athletics reported on the Girls Wrestling team's success at regionals. "Congrats to Kaiya Galindo for 2nd place and Vanesa Penaloza for a strong 4th place at regionals. Both are advancing to sectionals next weekend in Geneseo."
Later that day, Freeport Athletics provided an update on the Basketball Girls Junior Varsity team's game against Hononegah. "Basketball Girls Junior Varsity loses to Hononegah with a final score of 9 - 41."
