Mayor Carl Bates called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
Roll Call: Mayor Carl Bates, present, Alderman Doug Bergren, present, Alderman Jeff Elliott, present, Alderman Paul Kaczmarski, present, Alderman Mike Risko, present, Alderman Jeff Soenksen, present, Jody Wolber, present.
Alderman Paul Kaczmarski led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Bob Hatheway gave the Invocation
Alderman Elliott made a motion to approve the minutes from the January 14, 2025 Regular City Council meeting Alderman Risko seconded the motion. Roll Call Vote Alderman Elliott, yes, Alderman Risko, yes, Alderman Bergren, yes, Alderman Wolber, yes, Alderman Kaczmarski, yes and Alderman Soenksen, yes. Vote: 6 yeses and 0 nos. Motion carried.
Alderman Kaczmarski made a motion to authorize the payments of 23 claims Payables for $269,633.54 and Alderman Risko seconded. Roll Call Vote: Alderman Kaczmarski, yes, Alderman Elliott, yes, Alderman Risko, yes, Alderman Bergren, yes, Alderman Wolber, yes, Alderman Soenksen, yes. Vote: 6 yeses and 0 nos. Motion carried.

Water and Sewer
Superintendent Jonathan Armstrong reported that Alex and Dillion will be taking their testing on March 20, 2025. Well #3 is ready for reinstalment either on February 3 or 4,
2025. Had a water leak on King Street. Discussed the findings of the VFD issues and to have someone other than Jo-Carroll takes a look at the findings and help resolve the issues. Reviewed MSA’s Watermain Project Phase 3, Mill Street update report. Jared Fluhr will attend the next Council meeting to go over the final pay application and any Change Orders requested by Law Excavating.
Finance
Recommendation to pay accounts 23 payables for a total of $269,633.54
NEW BUSINESS
1. Discussion and Possible Action to Approve to pay for attendance to the Northwest Illinois Economic Development Annual Meeting on February 18, 2025: Alderman Elliott made a motion to approve payment for anyone who wishes to attend and Alderman Risko seconded. Roll Call Vote: Alderman Elliott, yes, Alderman Risko, yes, Alderman Soenksen, yes, Alderman Bergren, yes, Alderman Wolber, yes, and Alderman Kaczmarksi, yes. Vote: 6 yeses and 0 nos. Motion carried.
Public Comment
Alderman Wolber said the First Baptist Church sign that was placed on the corner of Clay and Washington was never put back up after the State of Illinois road and sidewalk project. Will tell Eric to order a new one.
