The Illinois General Assembly has seen minimal legislative action recently, according to State Representative Bradley J. Fritts. Despite the upcoming committee passage deadline, few bills have received hearings. Rep. Fritts expressed concern over issues such as the cost of living crisis and spending on illegal immigrants, which he believes require immediate attention.

Rep. Fritts shared that a bill aimed at saving money for small local governments passed the Counties & Townships Committee with unanimous support and now awaits further action on the House floor.

In his February 2025 local business highlight, Rep. Fritts recognized Dinges Fire Company in Amboy for its commitment to public safety and growth. The company, founded by Nick Dinges in 2002, provides equipment and services to fire departments across the Midwest and employs over 180 people.

Rep. Fritts also acknowledged his Deputy Chief of Staff, Piper Grazulis, who received the Shoulder to the Wheel Award from the Rock Falls Chamber of Commerce for her dedication to community betterment.

An audit revealed $1.6 billion spent on healthcare for illegal immigrants in Illinois, with thousands of improper enrollments reported. Rep. Fritts criticized these expenditures as unsustainable and unfair to taxpayers.

Rep. Fritts attended several community events including an agriculture networking event hosted by Tettens Grain Inc., congratulated Dixon Historic Theater on its reopening after renovations, toured Treehouse Foods in Dixon, and visited Washington School in Dixon to discuss education matters.

Rep. Fritts encourages constituents visiting Springfield to reach out for meetings to ensure government transparency and accountability.

He continues to provide updates through his e-newsletter about legislative efforts and district service activities.
