City of Rock Falls Utility Committee met April 28.

1. Utility Office 

a. Superintendent Update 

b. Write-offs January 2025 thru March 2025 

ACTION REQUESTED: Approve write-offs as presented in the amount of $18,822.38 and  forward to City Council for approval.  

c. Request from Touch a Truck to waive fees. 

ACTION REQUESTED: Approve waiving of fees for Touch a Truck and forward to City  Council for approval.  

2. Water Department 

a. Superintendent update 

b. Review quotes for locates of water services under IEPA Grant. 

ACTION REQUESTED: Waive bidding of project to locate water services under IEPA Grant. ACTION REQUESTED: Accept bid/quote from Kirby Cable Service, 17842 Sumner Rd,  Pecatonica, IL 61063 in the amount of $36,500 as low bidder and forward to City Council for  approval.  

 c. Review proposal for 2024 Ford Super Duty F-250 from Dixon Ford ACTION REQUESTED: Approve purchase of 2024 Ford Super Duty F-250 from Dixon Ford  in the amount of $57,875.70 and forward to City Council for approval.

a. Review terms of Utility Committee members. 

Tom Myers: 5-year term expiring April 30, 2027 

Shane Brown: 5-year term expiring April 30, 2026

Ed Cox: 5-year term expiring April 30, 2030. 

Tom Myers has served 1-year of his 2-year term as Chairman. 

Brian Snow had 1 year left of his 2-year term as Vice-Chairman. 

Need to do an election in May for Brian Snow’s unexpired term of 1-year as Vice-Chairman. 

Gabbi McKanna will be replacing Brian Snow on the Utility Committee beginning of May 1,  2025. 

POLICY/EDUCATION

E. Next Meeting Date Monday, May 19, 2025 – the 4th Monday is Memorial Day F. Committee Member Items 

G. Executive Session – Section 29 (c) (11) – Pending, probable or imminent litigation.
