House Minority Leader Tony McCombie has announced the launch of her 9th Annual Summer Reading Club for elementary school students in the 89th District. The program, titled "Reading BUZZ," aims to foster positive reading habits among young learners.
"I am thrilled that for 9 consecutive years I have hosted this program with the goal of encouraging students to keep reading," McCombie stated. "Summer learning is important, but it can also be fun, and this program is intended to do just that."
The Reading BUZZ initiative challenges students to read eight books by July 14. Forms for participation are available at local libraries or online at RepMcCombie.com under the "resources" tab. The program allows participants to engage in other summer reading initiatives offered by schools and organizations.
Students who complete the challenge will receive a special treat and a certificate from State Representative Tony McCombie. Parents or guardians must fill out and sign the participation form, returning it to Rep. McCombie’s office by July 14 at 9317B IL Rt 84, Savanna, IL 61074.
