City of Rochelle Golf Course Advisory Committee met June 2.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
The meeting was called to order at 11:00 AM. The members present were Dennis Stewart, Bob Johns, Lance Charnock, Don Geralds. Absent: Mark Gillis. Also present: Mitch Hamilton.
· Public Comments: None
· Approve the minutes of the March 2025 meeting. Motion by Lance Charnock. seconded by Bob Johns. Motion carried 4-0.
· Financial Report—Mitch Hamilton: Total liabilities, equity and surplus as of April 30th, 2025. $61,370.02 Motion to accept the financial report was made by Lance Charnock. Bob Johns seconded it. Motion Passed 4-0.
· Golf Course Superintendent Report – Mitch Hamilton:
a. Rounds played as of April 2025, were 1996 vs. 2024 of 2142
b. Thursday Men’s Golf leagues have started with the Tuesday league to begin this week.
c. The ladies league has been suspended in favor of an Wednesday Ladies Day at $20.00 with a cart all day.
d. Due to increased play on weekends the pro shop employees will now work three shifts with an hour’s overlap to help marshal the pace of play.
e. Two additional loads of sand are to be delivered to continue the bunker renovation. Bunker edging to continue.
f. Bathrooms at 4-6 tee are now open. Millings to be placed at 6 tee area.
g. Stump grinding and tree trimming along 4-6-7 fairways to begin this week.
h. June Play Days scheduled, June 7th VFW. June 12th Chamber Play Day. June 14th Bulkley (Wounded Warriors). June 19th Maplehurst Vendors. June 20th Dan Pieche will be regripping and repairing clubs.
Motion to Accept the report; Bob Johns, seconded by Don Geralds. Motion passed 4-0. ·
