Illinois House Minority Leader Tony McCombie saw three of her legislative measures passed by the Illinois House of Representatives and signed into law by Governor JB Pritzker this spring.
One of McCombie’s main focuses has been finding new ways to address Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD), which has affected residents in her 89th Legislative District. She said her efforts were shaped by feedback from people living in northwest Illinois.
“Feedback from constituents is essential in the legislative process, and I’m proud that the efforts to address CWD reflect their voices. It’s a solid start—and we’re not done yet,” said McCombie.
A third bill sponsored by McCombie, SB1158, is designed to help MABAS chiefs respond more safely during emergencies.
“This bill is about keeping people safe, which means first and foremost looking out for our first responders to make sure they have what they need when time is critical,” McCombie said.
McCombie, a Republican, was elected to the Illinois State House in 2023 and represents the 89th House District, succeeding Andrew Chesney. More information on her legislation can be found at https://ilga.gov/.
