City of Rochelle Golf Course Advisory Committee met July. 28.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
The meeting was called to order at 11:00 AM. The members present were Dennis Stewart, Don Geralds, Bob Johns. Absent: Lance Charnock. Also present: Mitch Hamilton and Jennifer Thompson.
· Public Comments: With the resignation of Mark Gillis from the committee, I would like to thank and acknowledge his years of service and support.
· Approve the minutes of the June30th, 2025 meeting. Motion to accept by Don Geralds seconded by Dennis Stewart. Motion passed 3-0
· Financial Report—Mitch Hamilton: Total liabilities, equity and surplus as of June 30th, 2025. $58,708.59. The motion to accept the financial report was made by Bob Johns. Don Geralds seconded it. Motion Passed 3-0.
· Golf Course Superintendent Report – Mitch Hamilton:
· A) Rounds played as of June 30th, 2025; 7500 vs 2024 of 7386.
· B) Tree removal and clean up on the first fairway has been completed.
· C Trimming of the 4/6/7 triangle is scheduled to continue.
· D) Play days scheduled for July. Dennis Berg Club Championship August 2nd and 3rd. Fat Cats August 9th, Rochelle Found, August 29th, St. Paul’s, August 31st. RTHS has two home events on August 20th and 27th.
Business Items: CDGA to be contacted about the handicap computer.
· Committee Members Reports/Concerns: Holes 7, 14, 15, 16 to have stakes for out of bounds to be installed. With the resignation of Mark Gillis from the committee we are accepting nominations. See Mitch Hamilton.
· Date and Time for the next meeting: The next meeting is to be held on August 25th at 11:00 AM in the Fairways Pro Shop.
· Adjournment: Motion to adjourn by Bob Johns and seconded by Don Geralds. Motion carried 3-0. The meeting was adjourned at 11:30 AM.
