In response to a tragedy at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, House Minority Leader Tony McCombie issued a statement expressing sorrow and support for those affected.
“My heart breaks for the students, teachers, families, and parish community of Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis. This act of evil is more than a local tragedy, it is an attack on innocence, on faith, and on every child’s right to feel safe. No family should ever have to send their kids to school and wonder if they’ll be safe. Communities are exhausted by senseless violence that continues to steal lives and leave lasting scars. We cannot grow numb to it, and we must stand united against the hatred that fuels it. Today, we grieve with Minneapolis and lift up all those shattered by this horrific act,” McCombie said.
McCombie has served as a Republican representative for Illinois’ 89th House District since her election in 2023, succeeding Andrew Chesney.
