On September 11, 2025, Freeport Athletics recognized a senior swimmer for her performance in a recent meet. The post stated: " Athlete of the Week (8/31 – 9/6) Congratulations to Victoria Buchla (Senior, Girls Swim & Dive)! What an outstanding meet against Pekin & Rock Island: 1st – 50 Free 1st – 400 Free Relay 2nd – 500 Freestyle 3rd – 200 Medley Relay #AthleteOfTheWeek".
