Freeport Athletics, the official athletics account for Freeport High School in Stephenson County, reported a series of results from recent high school sports competitions involving its soccer and tennis teams.
On September 13, 2025, Freeport Athletics posted that the boys junior varsity soccer team lost to Dekalb. The tweet stated: "Soccer Boys Junior Varsity loses to Dekalb with a final score of 0 - 5." On the same day, another result was shared for the varsity team: "Soccer Boys Varsity loses to Dekalb with a final score of 1 - 5."
Two days later, on September 15, 2025, Freeport Athletics announced a win by the girls varsity tennis team against Rockford Christian. The post read: "Tennis Girls Varsity defeats Rockford Christian with a final score of 4 - 1."
Freeport High School serves grades nine through twelve and had an enrollment of 1,084 students during the 2019-2020 academic year. According to state data, grade ten represented the largest group at the school with approximately one quarter of all students enrolled at that level (Illinois Report Card). The student body is composed of roughly half white students (50.5 percent), about one quarter black students (24.2 percent), as well as Hispanic and Asian minorities (Illinois Report Card).
